Birthday parties are my thing – I go all out. Months of planning all lead up to one big day, and I live for it. I’ve been planning my daughter’s fourth birthday party, since the day after her third birthday party. Yes, it’s true. But whether you plan for months, weeks or just a few days here are a few key things to help party planning go smoothly for your perfect bash.
The theme – The most important thing to consider when planning a soiree for mini party goers is that the theme should revolve around what your child loves most – whatever that may be. Cupcakes, dinosaurs, rainbows, trucks, princesses or heros? Let your birthday star dictate the direction for the party.
Pin it – Need a little inspiration? The hottest place for party ideas is Pintrest. Pages and pages of ideas in pretty little pictures for every theme imaginable, Pinterst will have your creative juices flowing in minutes. Fair warning, you make be sucked in for hours. (I love pinning party ideas, follow my boards at http://pinterest.com/JenBurg/.)
Assign tasks – No mama, you cannot do it all. If you really want to enjoy your tot’s big day, enlist the help of family and friends. You know those well-meaning peeps who ask if they can do anything to help – yes! But be specific otherwise you will end up missing those precious party moments helping your helpers find something to do.
Birthday parties come in all shapes and sizes. Remember, the number one element of your kiddo’s birthday party should be FUN! It’s party time!
