Kale and Sweet Potato Puree

pic 1
I am very excited about this kale and sweet potato puree. First off I finally found a vegetable that my daughter is really loving right now, sweet potatoes! I wanted to increase her taste buds a bit so I experimented by adding kale to her sweet potato puree.

Kale is very fibrous, and packed full of beneficial compounds. It’s a rich source of antioxidants that are cancer fighters, has vitamin C, lowers the risk of heart disease, and so much more. I recommend using a knife to cut the leaves off the thick stem. Then I like to dice the leaves and have it steam in the Baby Bullet Steamer. This will make it more tender to puree for your little one.

Kale and Sweet Potato Puree

  • 1-2 long leaves of kale
  • 1/2 cup diced sweet potato
  • 1-2 tbs water

  1. Peel and dice the sweet potato.
  2. Wash and devein the kale leaves.
  3. Add the diced kale leaves to the Baby Bullet Steamer on setting 4.
  4. Then add the kale and sweet potato to the Baby Bullet and blend till smooth.
  5. Add 1-2 tbs of water at a time to make the puree more smooth.

Do you steam or cook the sweet potato any? I didn’t see that mentioned in the recipe. Thanks!!
