Green Bean, Potato and Kale Puree


My daughter loves to hold on to food and just gnaw at it. First, it was whole carrots and then it became long, steamed green beans. I would just pop one or two right into the Baby Bullet Steamer and she would have her favorite vegetable ready in minutes. She would just carry it around the house and gnaw. It was so cute! But that phase ended quickly.

Recently, I tried a fresh green bean and she he was at it again! When she started teething, it gave her problems and, sometimes, she would refuse to eat at all. Somedays the gnawing helped the itch, and somedays it just hurt. So, I had to go back to the basics of pureeing her favorite veggies.

This recipe is not only great as a first food for baby, but also for a teething toddler. For my teether, I made the puree really cold so that is would soothe her gums.

Green Bean, Potato and Kale Puree


  • 4-5 fresh cut green beans
  • 1/2 russet potato
  • 2 leaves of kale


  1. In a pot, add water with a little salt and add the kale. Let boil for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Place the kale in a cold water bath to stop the cooking process.
  3. Peel and cube the potato and add along with green beans to your Baby Bullet Steamer.
  4. Steam for about 8 minutes.
  5. Add the kale, steamed potato, and green beans to your Baby Bullet and blend until smooth.
