As my daughter is getting older, it seems her pickiness about vegetables is getting worse. The only way she will eat them is hidden in a purée, like this green bean, carrot and rice one. I first steam the carrots and green beans and cook a small pot of rice. Once cooked, I blend them all together with a little bit of water and serve it to her warm. It makes me happy knowing she is getting her vegetables in through this healthy homemade purée. You can adjust the texture based on your baby’s age. Younger babies should have very thin purées, while toddlers can handle a chunkier texture.
Green Bean, Carrot and Rice Purée
- 1/4 cup chopped, steamed green beans
- 1/4 cup chopped, steamed carrots
- 1/4 cup rice
- 1/2 cup water
- Add all ingredients to a Baby Bullet pitcher and blend to desired texture.
Makes 1 cup.
