Date and Blueberry Puree

After having three babies, it’s funny to think that one of my kids most loved purees was dates. It’s definitely not a favorite food now many years later. (I think they would love them if they just gave them a try!)

Dates are a great way to naturally add sweetness to purees, that’s why this puree is definitely going to be made often. It tends to thicken up once in the fridge, so don’t be afraid to thin it out quite a bit.

Also, if your baby is eating oatmeal or yogurt, this would make a great mix in to naturally sweeten it up!

Date and Blueberry Puree

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pitted dates, can be boiled in water to soften
  • 1 cup blueberries

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a Baby Bullet Blender. Puree until smooth. Add a little bit of water if you boiled the dates to thin out the texture.
  2. At this step, you can either strain the mixture to separate the blueberry skins, or leave a little chunkier as is.
  3. Refrigerate between 2-3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
