Baby Pumpkin Carrot Soup

Soup is one of the first ‘real meals’ that my babies enjoyed eating. I love the stage where they are starting to realize they can drink through a straw! They want to drink everything they see. One of my tricks to get my little ones to eat soup is to add a straw to the bowl. For some reason sipping soup through a straw is a lot more fun than eating it with a spoon! And, it’s not as messy either! Double this recipe and it can serve your whole family, just adjust the seasonings for the ‘big kids’ taste buds! Pair with a grilled cheese and it’s perfect for the whole family!

Baby Pumpkin Carrot Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup baby carrots
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree
  • ¾ cup vegetable broth
  • Dash of nutmeg
  • Salt, pepper

Instructions

  1. Add your carrots to a steamer basket, and steam until the carrots are completely soft.
  2. Once they are done, add the carrots, pumpkin puree, and vegetable broth to the Baby Bullet blender and puree until smooth. Add seasonings to taste, and serve. (Make sure it’s not too hot!)
  3. You could also reduce the broth and have it be more of a puree instead of a soup for younger babies.
